This seems relevant in the context of ASI and humans living with them (or not).

    Do animals have some sort of concept of property rights? Territorial animals will try to drive others of their species away, and lots of animals will protest if you take something away from them.

    I won’t speak for what’s in the mind of a territorial animal, but with animals property rights aren’t enforced.

    That’s why they live in the state of nature and not in a civilization.
